When the Winterhaven Hotel Miami opened in 1939 it was advertised as an "ultra modern" hotel with "large outside rooms," "a skytop solarium," "spacious lobby and mezzanine," "large veranda overlooking the ocean," and "$1 per night" rates.The meticulous restoration has preserved everything except the $1 per night rates!

The Winterhaven Hotel Miami on Ocean Drive at 14th Street, is located directly across from the Atlantic Ocean and just four blocks north of the Ocean Drive's hubbub. A two year, top-to-bottom renovation has resulted in a hotel that preserves its historical significance while reflecting the requirements of a modern era.
All guestrooms are decorated in custom designed Art Deco style furniture upholstered in soothing tones of soft green, ginger and cream. Warm yellow walls are accented with black and white photos of classic Miami Beach Deco hotels. Wooden Venetian blinds add to the airy, tropical feeling.
Most of the 70 guest rooms feature ocean views. Top-of-the-line is the oceanfront rooms with spectacular beach and ocean views, one-or-two bedroom oceanfront suites with spacious corner bedrooms and adjoining parlors.
The Winterhaven Hotel Miami is within walking distance of all the shops, cafes and clubs of South Beach. The downtown Miami business district, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables and Miami International Airport are all within a 15 to 20 minute drive.
