The hotel was very copnvienent and close to where my daughter lives. On 72nd Street is a commercial district where there are eateries, drug stores etc. It is about 2 blocks from a Metro station and Broadway and Amsterdam. It is about 4 blocks from Central Park and 1 block from the Hudson River. The staff was helpful. The bathrooms and the room were clean. Its outstanding features are the location and the price.

Found Riverside Studios listed online,liked the location and rates, but expected the hotel to be borderline quality for that price.
We were surprised to discover that, even though the hotel is simple and no-frills (no real lobby, having the full bath down the hall, etc) the facilities are extremely clean. Also, the location and the hotel itself are very quiet, although only 2 blocks from a subway. We also found parking on the street overnight and an all-day garage for ~$12 just a block away.
Carpets are visibly worn, but the furniture is more what you'd expect in a Caribbean cottage, with pineapple patterns, and coral and blue color scheme. There was a sink in the room, A/C, decent TV, small refrigerator, generous closet space. The full bathroom down the hall was spotless, and we never had to wait for other residents to use it.
We would definitely stay there again.
